The British Press
B. Yagoda profile

The British press is like the American press, only more so. With eleven daily national papers--from the tabloid Sun and Daily Mirror to the upmarket Guardian, Independent and Times--fiercely competing for stories, readers and reporters, the journalistic scene is frequently shocking, sometimes stirring and always entertaining. The course will look at the historical, literary and economic contexts of today's British press, but most of our time will be spent reading the daily papers--critically and analytically.
