Elsa Muller profile

MW 3-4:30

This course will explore the relation between madness and narrative in historical, cultural, psychological and narratological terms. Beginning with three classic' narratives--novels by Kesey, Vonnegut, and Heller--the course will move on to more recently published works of madness and obsession. Needless to say, Michel Foucault's Madness and Civilization will serve as an important theoretical backdrop.
