TR 1:30-3
This course will combine theory and practice. We will be studying the phenomena of 'performance art' of the last couple of decades in the U.S. We will read critical theory focusing on such performers as Karen Finley, Anna Deavere Smith, Eric Bogosian, Deb Margolin, Robbie McCauley, and others, to investigate what constitutes performance art (as opposed to "theatre"). Each student will also have an opportunity to script and perform his/her own piece of performance art as a final project.
