Fiction Writing Workshop
Albert Dibartolomeo profile

T 1:30-4:30

This is a course in the writing of the short story. With our eyes primarily on technique, we will read a fair number of stories taken from an anthology, and we will avail ourselves of a primer on the order of Jerome Stern's *Making Shapely Fiction*. Students will write several stories of their own. At least one story will go through the workshop process. During workshop sessions, one student will act as senior editor of the story under evaluation. Students will be encouraged to write as many drafts of their stories as time and energy allows. Manuscripts should be addressed to and sent to or left in the English Department, 119 Bennett Hall, 34th and Walnut Streets, Philadelphia, PA 10104. Please include name, SS#, undergraduate class, and a telephone number where you can be reached. A permit from the instructor is required.
