Anglophone African Literature

In this course, students are introduced to main literary traditions and context of African Literature through a study of selections from the works of some of the major authors writing in English. The prescribed texts are set against the background of African history, oral traditions and social organization. particular attention will be paid to major theme and literary developments. students are expected to present three essays on prescribed topics in the course of the program, and this continuos assessment will be take in to account in the final assessment.
