"Sir Gawain and the Green Knight": Homosexuality,Heterosexuality in Fiction"

In this seminar we will examine how this extraordinary text deals with critical issues that question the definitions of identity via gender and sexual orientation. As many medieval English texts this particular one indded adds this discussion to the interesting delimitation of heroic idealism into a more capacious human dimension of the individual and of the group. We will also read the poem _Sir Orfeo_ so as to familiarize ourselves with the perspective 'homosexuality, heterosexuality' that has only very recently been discussed and developed about these texts.
