American Poetry From the 1960s On
Bob Perelman profile

TR 12-1:30

American poetry in these decades has been enormously various.  We will
take up a wide range of issues, looking at literary movements as well
as individual poetic careers and techniques.  Experiment and formal
academic verse, the Beats, the New York School, confessional poetry,
and language writing will be among the areas we look at.  We will do
some imitations of specific writing techniques, but there will be
considerable emphasis on developing sophisticated critical approaches
as well.
