Major British Poetry 1660-Present
Alice Kelley profile

TR 9-10:30

If you look carefully at a raindrop on a leaf you can often see the sky and the scene surrounding reflected.  So poetry often reflects the world in a concentrated but powerful way.  In this class we shall be studying a selection of British poetry written between 1725-1925.  We shall be looking at the way poetry works, the way form and content change over
time and accordingly to the focus of the poet.  This section is designed for students who are a little worried about reading poetry.  We shall try some imitations of our own to help us get inside foreign shoes. Written work will also include two 8-10 page critical papers.
