English 135 is primarily a workshop in the informal essay. Most of the class time will be devoted to analyzing and evaluating student writing. Essay topics will include character profiles, autobiographical events, and cultural trends. You will be required to write every week. The course will stress writing which is clear, well-organized, and interesting in style. Readings from texts will be assigned as well and discussed in class. (See note at end of English 112 description.)
