T 3-6

These courses are designed primarily for beginning graduate students, but they *are* OPEN to advanced undergraduate majors. Majors who take 500-level courses may in most cases count them as major requirements. For instance, a major who takes a 500-level course in modern American poetry may of course count that course toward a concentration in poetry as a genre. Likewise, these courses may be counted by majors as seminars (to meet the requirement of at least two advanced seminars). They may not generally be substituted for the required series, English 200, 201, 202, 203.
